Avoid during pregnancy.

 

ANISE SEED 

Pimpinella anisum

Avoid during pregnancy. 

 

MELISSA HERB (LEMON BALM)

Melissa officinalis

May affect thyroid hormone levels and inhibit binding of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) to TSH receptors.  In large amounts, Melissa is a thyroxin inhibitor.  Avoid with Hashimoto thyroiditis and other hypothyroid conditions.  Large amounts of Melissa may be antagonistic to Synthroid and Levoxyl.

 

BASIL LEAF (SWEET) 

Ocimum basilicum

Avoid during pregnancy.  Use with caution if diabetic and monitor blood sugar levels.  

 

YARROW FLOWER

Achillea millefolium

Avoid if allergic to members of the Asteraceae family (composites).  Avoid during pregnancy.  Avoid with pelvic inflammatory disease and excessive menstrual bleeding. With external use, immediate cessation of treatment is advised in the event of itching and inflammatory changes in the skin. 

 

MARJORAM 

Origanum majorana

Safe to consume when used appropriately.

 

MUGWORT (DRIED HERB ONLY)

Artemisia vulgaris

Not to be used during pregnancy.  

 

ROSEMARY

 

Rosmarinus officinalis

Avoid during pregnancy.  Use with caution if diabetic and monitor blood sugar levels.  Avoid with blood thinning medication.  Avoid with low blood pressure. Ingestion of a phenolic-rich extract of Rosemary leaf reduced absorption of non-heme iron.  

 

THYME LEAF

Thymus vulgaris

Avoid during pregnancy.
