The course will be one weekend a month for 7 months in a row. Interest will determine if the course will be offered every year or not. If there is great interest in continuing the scheduling format of one evening class a week for 7 or 8 months then that will be considered again. Do
I need to attend every class? Inform Cheryl in advance if you must miss a class. She will let you know what material you need to cover on your own time. Missed classes need to be kept to an absolute minimum. Permission will be given on a case-by-case basis if you want to miss more than a few classes. This certification program is
the only “live” course presented in the Midwest and provides each student
the opportunity of hands-on learning experiences.
Cheryl's teaching style focuses upon development of a group learning
atmosphere in which students are free to share knowledge and explore ideas.
Throughout the course students are encouraged to present ideas and suggestions
for learning activities related to the basic structure and content of the
course. The learning environment will
stimulate interest in learning, respect individual needs of students and yet
provide time for fun and shared interests of the group. Cheryl’s considerable experience in the aromatherapy and herbal
industry is a valuable portion of these classes. Students will appreciate her
practical knowledge and expertise in producing aromatherapy products in the most
efficient and professional manner. Cheryl offers a traditional approach to an
apprenticeship, dedicated to giving consistent guidance so that students are
fully supported in the learning process. The hands-on style of classes enables
students to successfully acquire the skills needed to effectively incorporate
aromatherapy into their profession or home lifestyle. Dexterity comes with
hands-on practice, which fosters a deeper appreciation of both the art and
science of aromatherapy. Years of running her own business as well as running the National
Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA) has given Cheryl a unique
perspective in what it takes to successfully begin your own aromatherapy
business or successfully add this craft to your current profession. These basic
principles or requirements for success are emphasized during all apprenticeship
classes. Some of these basics for success include: ü
Organizational Skills ü
Effective Record-Keeping ü
Negotiating Skills ü
Compassion for others ü
Patience ü
Persistence ü
Discipline to Strive for
Excellence ü
Motivational Drive ü
